The CAFCA Brief UpdateCAFCA Training Committee Minutes

January 10, 2006

Present: Renee Johnson (Third Way Center) chair, Katie Mason (CAFCA), Suzanne (CAFCA), Beth Nixon (Savio), Melissa Maile (Catholic Charities), and Leslie Wilmot (American Humane Association).

First Quarter Workshop: Discussed progress on Methamphetamine workshop. Still no details. Person doing workshop has not responded, and most likely will not until the date is closer.

Discussed making some contacts on the Western Slope, (maybe another CAFCA program, like Hands Up Homes) to assist with place and possible attendees. Katie will make contact. It is difficult to organize when we have so little information.

Discussed other possibilities if Meth workshop does not come through.

Charlie Appelstein: Katie will confirm for May 11th. Several of the agencies agreed that they would be interested in paying part of the costs for their employees to attend (Savio, TWC, etc) We could also open it up an offer as a general CAFCA workshop. We need a description or what he is presenting on an a time frame. Katie is in contact. The cost for Mr. Appelstein is $800.
