In Attendance:  Brooke Davidson (Lost and Found Inc.), Bonnie McNulty (CSFPA), Katie Mason (CAFCA), Melissa Maile (Catholic Charities), Megan Alldritt (Catholic Charities), Karen Meulendyke (Catholic Charities) and Marianne Anderson (Adoption Options)

SAFE Conference Call Update:  Brooke offered an overview of the September 20th conference call.  Keep an eye on the Changealifeforever.org web site for the posting of Interview/Skill Building Trainings.  You also can find upcoming SAFE and SAFE Supervisor Training dates here.  The conference calls are now quarterly with the next call scheduled for December 8th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

Legislation Discussion:  The committee discussed the pros and cons of the Salaried Foster Parent Pilot.  Catholic Charities has completed contracts and employee contracts in preparing for working with Jefferson County.  If other CPAs are interested in this pilot, Catholic Charities is willing to share their contracts.  Contact Megan Alldritt.

A discussion of proposed legislation for next session to change required denial of certification/licensure if certain felony hits appear on background checks for potential foster parents.  The idea is to consider on a case-by-case basis certain felony convictions.  Language is beginning to be drafted.  If you have opinions or thoughts please email them to Peg Long (CAFCA) or Megan Alldritt (Catholic Charities).  Bonnie McNulty offered to find out if other states are doing this by posting the question to other SCPA Presidents.

Online Directory:  If you have not yet checked out the directory, do so.  Now is the time to get your agency information to CAFCA.   Take a look at El Pueblo’s entry as a model.
