Foster Care Committee Minutes

Attendees: Brooke
Davidson (Chair-Lost and Found), Bonnie McNulty (CSFPA), Sr. Lavonne (United
Way), Marianne Anderson (Adoption Options), Melissa Maile and Megan Alldritt
(Catholic Charities), Katie Mason and Susannah Carroll (CAFCA)
Strategies to
Increase Attendance:
- Efforts
to outreach to Past Attendees:
- Kids
Ark-Carol Metters reports that they do not currently have any active CPA
Homes
- Community
Learning Centers-Joe Sprague was unable to attend but is planning on
coming
- COCAF-Brooke
has left some messages but hasn’t heard back so she will try emailing
- Casey
Family Services-Brooke has left some messages but hasn’t heard back so
she will try emailing
- Still
need to contact: The
Griffith Center-Chins Up and Bethany (Maddie Noleen)
- Other
ideas:
- Potentially
do joint meetings with CTS committee (2x/year given all of the changes
in Medicaid and structures that will affect use of foster and group
homes).
- Include
agencies that are developing or increasing group homes
- Making
sure contact info is updated in Member Directory
- Review
other committee minutes on the Website-go to members only section-log
in-CAFCA, password-leaders
- Committee
Day and Time:
- Committee
will continue to meet on Thursdays so the ongoing meeting will be the 3rd
Thursday of the month from 9:00-10:30.

Review of Committee
Goals
- Increase
attendance (see strategies above)
- Research
and discuss issues facing CPA’s-potentially do updates at each meeting
- Agencies
regularly submitting foster parents of the month-Melissa and Bonnie will
update us on this process after their next CSFPA meeting in August.
CAFCA Training
Assistance
This needs to be clarified for next meeting whether member agencies
can get reduced
rates at State and other trainings.
