CAFCA Foster Care Committee Minutes

January 26, 2006

Present: Keith Hughes (Lost & Found, Inc.), Joe Sprague (CGT), Bonnie McNulty (CSFPA), Megan Alldritt (Catholic Charities), Marianne Anderson (Adoption Options), Melissa Maile Catholic Charities, Dana Rinderknecht (Family Pathways), Laurie Burney (Foster Care Connection), Linda Osborne (Savio House), Peg Long (CAFCA), Katie Mason (CAFCA).

1.      Foster Care Committee Chair:  Nobody currently on the committee was able or desired to take the opening of the Chair.  As a result, I proposed Brooke Davidson, my replacement at Lost and Found, to fill the Chair position.  The group supported and was in favor of this proposal.  Mrs. Davidson will be filling this position as of February.

2.      Goals for Foster Care Committee were set and discussed, here are the results:

·        Getting CAFCA Trainings on State Website

·        Expand Membership

·        Each committee commits to sponsor a topic at the conference

·        Increase number of foster/adoptive parents attending the annual conference

·        Each agency nominates a foster family for the Foster Care Rally for foster parent of the month/year.

3.      Other issues addressed:  Legislative Audit – clarifying this was just a state audit, not a agency specific; Rate Setting negotiations – Arapahoe and Denver are open; Prof. Foster Care/ Salary Foster Care – being carried by Rep. Coleman.
